Article
With its EU2030 vision and a number of policy sightlines, DA wishes to set a positive and constructive agenda when it comes to shaping the future of the EU.
The EU started life as a peace project. The Coal and Steel Union was established in 1952, and co-operation at European level has developed significantly since Denmark joined the European Community in 1973. For more than 30 years, the single market has constituted a cornerstone of European co-operation and has contributed to progress and increased wealth and prosperity in the EU member states.
It is a success story, and the Confederation of Danish Employers, DA, regards the EU as an essential and unconditionally necessary community. At the same time, DA pays great attention to any new EU initiatives within the area of labour-market policies as it is very important that they are designed in such a way that they do not undermine the Danish labour-market model.
DA wishes to set a positive and constructive agenda when it comes to shaping the future of the EU. Our vision for EU2030 is a balanced co-operation that:
- promotes a well-functioning single market
- develops the competencies of the labour force
- secures equal opportunities
- strengthens a socially strong Europe
- embraces new digital tools
For each of these five themes, DA has developed a set of policy sightlines that we will use as reference marks in our work to influence the development of the EU in a direction that will benefit both companies and employees – in Denmark and across the European continent.
